February 1 - Water Walking










Yesterday I decided to get back to the YMCA and begin to exercise again.  I started with Water Walking. I was able to get there yesterday and again today, both for at least 30 minutes.






I read online that a 30-minute walk in water was the equivalent of a two-hour walk on land, without the wear and tear on joints. I am not so sure of that comparison. I do know that my muscles are sore today, but that is not abnormal for me. I also found this online.."All factors being equal, walking one mile in the water provides a workout similar to walking two miles on land, burning up to twice the calories in the same amount of time. "And the body's buoyancy in water reduces impact on joints and provides a lower risk of injury.
